Our studios are a real part of the Tonbridge community, with additional classes running alongside our full Pilates schedule. We want you to be able to have an all-round health experience at our studios, which is why we have additional classes available to boost general wellbeing. These are some of the teachers who regularly teach classes at our studios.

Hannah Carr

I’ve been a life long yoga student, in my teens I started to train professionally as a dancer but had I  to put that career on hold due to injury.  Movement has continued to be an important component of my life and I decided to train as a yoga teacher in 2017. Firstly, to further my own practice and share that teaching experience with others.  I trained with The Yoga Tree of Life in Tunbridge Wells completing the 200 hour yoga teacher training.

As a nutritionist who specialises in helping people reduce stress, overwhelm and constant tiredness, yoga perfectly complements the nutritional advice I give for these challenges.  It allows you to exercise without exhausting yourself, in fact when you listen to your body, exercise should give you energy.

It’s important for me to make my classes fully inclusive for even the complete beginner, I use lots of props to make all postures accessible, even if you think you can’t do it.  My classes always include breath-work to connect the body and the mind and meditation to help de-stress and deeply restore energy.

In my nutrition practice, as well as my specialism of restoring energy levels due to fatigue and stress, I also helps clients rebalance the body to overcome auto immune disease and manage other health challenges such as weight, cravings, IBS, mental health, anxiety, food intolerance and more.  I trained as a Naturopathic Nutritionist for 2 years with the School of Naturopathic Nutrition and have been helping Clients transform their health since 2017.

I feel my natural talents lie in developing relationships and have had amazing feedback from my clients who say they find me easy to open up to, non-judgmental and supportive.  This brings me great joy and I feel I’m serving my life purpose helping clients balance their heath through diet and movement.

Sam Dawson

I am a 500-hour British Wheel of Yoga trained yoga teacher and am a certified Special Yoga for Special Children yoga teacher leading Mindful Hatha Yoga and Special Yoga for Special Children sessions at Ismini Phillips Studios.

My yoga style is eclectic, drawing on a variety of yoga traditions to nourish the physical, mental and emotional body. My classes consist of mindful movement and sequences, basic breathing and pranayama techniques and relaxation all interwoven with yoga philosophy to inspire empowerment and self-confidence. The sessions are designed to be inclusive so beginner or experienced yogi you will find a very warm welcome.

My yoga journey began almost a decade ago during a period of my life where I was experiencing quite significant mental health challenges. I received a deck of yoga cards and after practicing a few sun salutations felt an instant uplift of mood. At that time I didn’t understand how or why I felt so good after practicing yoga but I didn’t need any more convincing and from that moment I started to practice yoga regularly!

After a few years of my own practice I wanted to share yoga with others and deepen my understanding of the philosophy and history behind yoga so in 2014 I undertook a 70-hour yoga foundation course and shortly afterwards began a 500-hour Level 4 Diploma in teaching yoga through the British Wheel of Yoga. Through my training I found a spiritual depth to my practice; which was something (unknowingly to me) I had been searching for a while.

It felt in many ways like I had come home to myself.

More recently I undertook a 50-hour training course through Special Yoga to be able to share yoga with children and young adults with special needs. Having a younger brother with special needs has opened my eyes to how challenging and overwhelming everyday life can be for someone with additional needs. I’ve also seen, especially as he’s got older, how desperate he is for some independence. So, I love that I can now offer a safe, calm space at Ismini Phillips Studios where students can come to experience the joy, comfort and peace of a yoga practice. With the studio also participating in a sensory friendly period during and after the yoga session It’s also a great opportunity for families and friends to meet like-minded individuals over a tea in the cafe.

I became a yoga teacher because I have always had a strong desire to help people. Having experienced how powerful yoga can be and knowing how instrumental yoga was in me overcoming my own body image issues, depression and anxiety I wanted to share that with others. It’s a joy to see how yoga has enhanced my student’s day to day lives, empowered them and helped them cope better in challenging life situations.

My classes at the Studios are on Fridays at 1.30pm to 2.30pm with Mindful Hatha Yoga and on Thursdays I am running yoga for children with disabilities at 4.15pm to 5.00pm.
