Meet our resident teachers

Our studios are a real part of the Tonbridge community, with additional classes running alongside our full Pilates schedule. We want you to be able to have an all-round health experience at our studios, which is why we have additional classes available to boost general wellbeing. These are some of the teachers who regularly teach classes at our studios.


Cobra defence london workshops

Sunday 1st March

Ladies Only Self Defence at 16:00-17:30
Ages 16+
The Ladies Only workshop focuses on the way criminals target YOU. You will learn the mental, verbal and physical skill sets you need to survive a violent attack. This innovative and realistic approach to women’s self-defence will give you lifesaving skills you can apply immediately. No gimmicks, no fancy moves. Just real techniques that actually work.



Saturday 7th March at 1pm-3pm

KARP (Knife Attack Response Plan)

Ages 13 years+

As knife crime increases, so does the concern for children travelling to and from school by themselves. COBRA have designed the Knife Attack Response Plan, which will give you strategic steps to take before, during and after an attack. (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). LIMITED SPACES!!



Sunday 15th March at 1pm-3pm

C.A.P (Child Abduction Prevention)

Ages 5-12

COBRA’s Child Abduction Prevention (C.A.P) workshop teaches children in an age appropriate and fun way about how to deal with real life situations. COBRA helps empower children on how to deal with threats in a confident manner using effective techniques.

In a few hours, they will participate and learn: Who can be a threat, how to respond to a threat, what not to do and why, physical techniques against an adult attacker, and MUCH MORE! Parents must attend with children. All teaching is age appropriate and fun-based!



Sunday 15th March at 4pm-6pm

Teen Safe

Ages 13.17

This workshop has been designed to give teenagers the skills they need to stay safe as they become more independent. COBRA will teach them self-defence techniques as well as covering social media safety, peer pressure, bullying, travelling alone, and much more.

In celebration of opening our doors for 12 months we’ve designed a birthday schedule to showcase the latest additions to our timetable and to give you the opportunity to try something new. If you’d like to join any of the classes below please email info@isminiphillips.com to book now and avoid disappointment – we cannot guarantee any spaces for booking on the day.

13:00-14:00 – bootybarre – Ismini

bootybarre is a fun, energetic, workout that fuses techniques from ballet, Pilates, and yoga that will tone, define and chisel the whole body. bootybarre is the perfect combination of strength and flexibility with an added cardiovascular element utilising the barre and small hand weights.

In celebration of Mother’s Day we invite you to bring your mums, daughters, sisters, nieces, cousins or friends!

14:10-15:10 – Yoga Flow – Ciara

In this Yoga Flow class you will work through the body from head to toe, employing stretch, strength, balance and breath to ensure that every muscle and sinew has been manipulated and exercised through a flow of movement.

As well as working out and getting a good sweat going in this class, the aim is to explore plains of movement you didn’t even know were available for you and to deepen your understanding of your bodily landscape in movement.

15:20-16:20 – Pilates Plus – Perry

We offer specialist Pilates Plus to give you a controlled energetic workout. Combining high-energy cardiovascular exercises with Pilates recoveries, Pilates Plus is designed to condition the whole body.

16:30-17:30 – Awareness through Movement – Mark

Feldenkrais sessions are all about reorganising the self, breaking bad habits and forming new connections that help to improve general movement. An Awareness Through Movement class will help you to move in a way that is right for you, working to free up your mind and body.

During the afternoon we’ll also be offering exclusive discounts on our new classes, refreshments and have a variety of sweet treats available. Even if you can’t come for a class, we’d love to see as many of you as possible. Pop in for to be entered into a prize draw!

Pilates for Menopause

March 28th-29th 2020

Teacher only course with Carolyne Anthony of The Centre for Women’s Fitness. The course is split into Mat only on Saturday and Equipment on Sunday.

Shelley Machin


I have always been passionate about the holistic and empowering approach to patient care that Osteopathy offers.

After Graduating in 2011, I have worked as an associate Osteopath in practices in Selsdon, South Darenth, Shirley and in Tonbridge.

My experience in practice has afforded me the opportunity of treating and working with a wide variety of patients. From young babies to the elderly, sporting injuries through to those with ongoing problems, I have enjoyed looking at both short term relief, and long term maintenance solutions.

I have a particular interest in women’s health Osteopathy and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in this area in 2015. Women’s health Osteopathy is a growing and exciting field that allows a greater understanding of the various challenges faced by women’s bodies throughout their lives, and provides more specific techniques to allow Osteopaths to support women through these stages. As a mum of two myself, this has been extremely interesting on a personal level as well as professionally.

I am very much looking forward to meeting you at Ismini Phillips Studios.


Ricia Taylor has been teaching in the dance industry since she graduated in Dance Studies with a BA Honours degree in 2006. She went on to form the Cascade Dance Company in 2007 where she specialises in Contemporary, Jazz and Ballet dance. In 2007 Ricia gained a YMCA Exercise to Music qualification and went on to complete her Ballet Fitness unit in 2008.

Ricia discovered a passion for Pole dance in 2007 and in 2008 began to teach Pole Fitness Classes. In 2012 Ricia started teaching aerial hoop and since then she has developed skills in Silks, Trapeze, Sling, Cube, Pole Silks, Rope. Ricia also integrates the use of doubles work into her classes. Along with her vast knowledge of Pole and Aerial Ricia has taken park in various performance’s, competitions and workshops with professionals over the years. Ricia is a qualified Pole Silks instructor with Spin City with full public liability insurance and is also DBS First aid qualified.

Aerial Twist offers Pole Fitness, Aerial Skills and Aerial Hoop classes for both children and adults, classes are open to all, regardless of experience. The classes focus on the fitness element, in a fun and relaxing environment.

Come and experience an all over fitness workout, tone your body and burn calories. Classes focus on building strength, flexibility, coordination and stamina. Aerial Twist also offer parties for both children and adults.
